We stock a variety of double basses and high-end electric basses. All our site content was lost when our previous web host got out of the hosting business, so please pardon our dust as we rebuild the inventory page. Our lines of brand-new basses include Moretti carved basses in sizes from 3/4 down to 1/32, Emilio da Padova laminated basses in 3/4 and 1/2, and a laminated bass we receive direct from the workshop - "La Zingarella".

As open as it is as a new bass, the sound will develop even more on playing in and this bass will be truly remarkable. Well set up, very playable. Currently set up with ultra-premium Pirastro Original FlatChrome strings, it’s practically a phenomenon in its price range. Just $5600.

Christian Laborie 'Piattalini' model. Handmade by one of the world's premier makers. Beautiful wood, especially the figure in the top spruce. Deep ribs and a steep cutaway toward the neck block. This bass has been a favorite with players visiting the shop, drawing many compliments about its very refined, singing tone and outstanding quick response. It is extremely predictable and easy to play in tune with a 41 1/2"string lenth. Its neck geometry makes for ease of access to thumb position. Many of its attributes suggest it would be an incomparable solo bass.
Ca. 1850, possibly Italian. A very interesting and unique bass which is gratifying to play. Its body is small, closer to that of a 1/2 size bass, but the neck is a normal length and the string length is a perfect 41 1/2". Very thin ribs of highly figured maple. Mature and full tone, surprisingly large sound for its size. This bass will give a player of shorter stature a great advantage, or work beautifully as a solo bass in a very moderate price range. $12,000
Vasile Gliga - another powerful, well-set up bass in excellent condition, easy to play. Larger lower bouts, ideal 41 1/2" string length. Brand-new bridge by our head luthier. The bass was regraduated several years ago by the David Gage shop, and features a bigger sound than typically found in basses in this price range. Just $5750.
